Leftist Media and Politician Spin Process

The following is a summary of how the leftists react and respond when they, or any of their mascot groups, get caught doing something that could hurt them politically or when they’re trying to push a bad policy or false narratives. Based on my experience having paid close attention to the news for decades, there seems to be a stepwise process that the leftists go through depending on how serious the issue is and how much evidence against them is already available to the public. The leftist responses change by going to one of the later steps (steps 1-5 below) when more evidence harmful to them becomes available to the public and their previous damage control efforts are no longer effective. Here’s a general framework based on patterns that I’ve seen:
- Projection and Pre-Bunk – This is the first step of the process and can be done prior to the negative (for the left) information being made available to the public. The leftists and their media lapdogs will say that the conservatives are doing something negative. That negative thing is something that the leftists are planning to do or are already doing but haven’t been caught yet. What this accomplishes is turning the topic into a “he said, she said” situation that frustrates the public and makes them lose interest. It also makes it appear that the GOP is using the “they’re doing it too” argument, which is generally ineffective and childish. Examples are: Trump will weaponize the DOJ against his political adversaries, the GOP is going to cheat in the election, Trump is going to violate the constitution, Trump is going to destroy our democracy, the right is engaging in censorship, Trump is working with the Russians and is Putin’s buddy, etc. This tactic can’t be used for events like the assassinations attempts on Trump because information that monumental gets out before the leftists can pre-bunk it.
- Denial – If the allegations are mild or even serious but there is little evidence or the available evidence hasn’t been made public yet, the leftists will go full throttle to deny any wrongdoing and label the evidence as misinformation or disinformation. This is commonly the first response but its effectiveness can be short-lived if the public doesn’t lose interest or if more harmful (to leftists) evidence is brought to the attention of the public. Examples of denial are: the Hunter Biden laptop, Epstein Island flight list and video evidence, the border is secure lie, the jab is safe and effective lie, the “fine people on both sides” lie, the destructive and deadly antifa and BLM riots during the summer of 2020 were “mostly peaceful”.
- Ignore and/or Suppress – If the denial response isn’t working or more evidence harmful to the leftist position is made public, the leftists, including their lapdog media, will not present information regarding the topic in the media and will direct social media to demonetize or deplatform anyone discussing the “banned” topic. In addition, search engine and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms will be programmed to present left-leaning information and leftist propaganda on the first few pages of results effectively suppressing the facts and presenting nothing but leftist lies to all but the most tenacious researchers. Examples are: Video of Joe Biden blackmailing Ukraine with $1 billion of US taxpayer money to fire the Burisma prosecutor to protect Hunter and the family grift, videos of doctors promoting ivermectin and other therapeutics to treat COVID-19 with very positive results, taking down the GovTrack website that ranked Kamala Harris as the most leftist senator in 2019.
- Moral Equivalency – This is the old “but they’re doing it too” argument used by children and leftists (the intellectual equivalent of children) and is related to the Projection tactic that is commonly used early in the process. If the information that could hurt the left is already out in the public mind and is too big to suppress the left will begin a campaign of moral equivalency. A current example is: the hyperbolic and dangerous rhetoric spewed by the left against Trump since 2016 likely led to the two assassination attempts. Now the leftist shills are saying that both sides need to tone down the rhetoric even though only one side has been targeted by deranged assassins. Other examples are: smearing the Israeli defense of their country and citizens by falsely claiming that the IDF is targeting civilians (especially women and children) and presenting Hamas propaganda casualty figures without citing that the data are from the terrorists, falsely claiming that January 6 was an insurrection and was MUCH worse than antifa and BLM riots, falsely claiming that 5-6 cops were killed by Trump supporters on January 6, when in fact no police officers or security staff were killed by the protestors. Leftists will actually say…..with a straight face, that the Jan 6 mostly peaceful protest was worse than Pearl Harbor and September 11th.
- Focus on Fear of Retribution – When the leftists have lost control of the narrative because their wrongdoing is well known to the public and the evidence that’s harmful to them can no longer be suppressed due to mountains of evidence, they will fearmonger that people on the conservative side are going to retaliate. This has been used in the past and is the current leftist narrative in response to the attempted hit on Trump. Other examples include: fear of islamophobia after 9/11, fear of islamophobia after October 7, fear of Asian hate crimes in response to COVID-19, fear of right-wing retaliation when illegal aliens kill or rape American citizens. A related leftist tactic is to focus on some trivial perceived slight against the left leaning criminal. An example of this is when a tranny goofball shot and killed a teacher and multiple children at a Christian school in Nashville reporters in the leftist media were more concerned that the murderous shooter was being “misgendered”.
